Is a lighthearted talk about loneliness and the complicated and incomprehensible adult world that those close to him have built around it. Performed onstage at the BTK, directed by Roman Boklanov
An autobiographical play-memory
Grandma was my life, my mother was a rare holiday. The holiday had its own rules, life had its own rules.
The story is about a boy named Sasha Saveliev who lives with his grandparents. His childhood is not peaceful and serene: Sasha is surrounded by the tyrannical love and despotism of his closest relatives. Their home is a battlefield, where the family is at war with each other with extreme cruelty. What is the price of love gained in this way?
The solo performance Bury Me Behind the Baseboard is a sad conversation about how difficult it is for a child to break through loneliness and navigate the unfriendly, complex, and incomprehensible adult world that has been built around him by loved ones.
Based on the book by Pavel Sanayev.
