A reconstruction of the events that took place outside the Alexandrinsky Theatre. You will see how the landscape was created, how it was filled with sounds and voices, natural and human.
Performance — walk
The "Doteater" performance is a reconstruction of events and conditions that took place around the Alexandrinsky Theater: viewers will follow the creation of the familiar landscape in a broad sense, what it was filled with sounds and voices, natural and human.
The audio route with AR elements invites viewers to include other systems and communities of the world that surrounds us in the exploration of the history of the Alexandrinsky Theater.
HOW IT WORKS: Viewers are given a gadget with headphones. The voice of the tour guide invites them to follow him. The audio track leads the viewers on a route from the New Stage to Ostrovsky Square via the Fontanka river embankment and Nevsky Prospekt.
WHAT'S IN AUDIO AND AR: In headphones the sounds of nature, the restored speech of the peoples who lived in these territories, the texts of plays, the silence of the blockade, the evacuation of the theatre and the first performance after the war. AR technology brings objects to life: participants can find AR marks, point their smartphones at them and watch the space around them change. Headphones respond to head movements and play 3D sound.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE VIEWER: Prepare for a walk with music in your headphones, like the one you put on when you want to think about something. To fully experience it, turn on your imagination: imagine the events that the voice is talking about, listen, stop at objects, and think.
