III International Theatre Festival "Total Fest. Dialogues"

The 3rd Total Fest. Dialogues International Theatre Festival took place at Total Theatre's venue in Almaty from 7 to 14 April 2024. Each year the festival has a new theme: About Love in 2022, Dramatis Persona in 2023, and in 2024 teenagers and young people, with conversations about growing up, inner dilemmas and relationships with friends and family. The programme brought companies from Almaty and Karaganda, Russia, Austria and Estonia: fairy tales, site-specific pieces, audio plays and solo shows, plus a directors' lab and a photo exhibition. The festival opened with Roman Boklanov's Beware of the Dog!, and Boklanov, one of the organisers, performed his solo Bury Me Behind the Baseboard in the version premiered in Vienna a month earlier.
